Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Ophthalmologist role based in Rayagada. The Ophthalmologist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage eye diseases, and provide medical and surgical treatment as appropriate. Daily responsibilities include assessing patient histories, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications or corrective lenses, and performing minor and major ophthalmic procedures. The role involves collaborating with optometrists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care, as well as educating patients on eye health, preventive measures, and treatment options. The Ophthalmologist is expected to maintain accurate medical records, adhere to clinical protocols, and participate in quality improvement activities within the facility.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in Medicine and Ophthalmology, with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions.
- Competence in Optometry-related assessments, including refraction and prescribing corrective lenses.
- Experience in Ophthalmic Surgery, including common procedures such as cataract and minor anterior segment surgeries.
- Familiarity with Laser-based treatments and technology used in ophthalmic care.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Ophthalmology (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent).
- Valid medical registration/license to practice, complying with local regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
